This is for you boys
This is the story of what happens to a pretty little boy. This is the story of the separation of the soul from the flesh, and how we flowed from serving our childhood masters to serving new masters.
How we became submissive vessels at the beckon call of the men who gave us money to do what we’d been trained to do as boys.
When I was a boy my Aunty introduced me to the worlds of make-believe and magic. We talked, laughed, and played games. Sometimes she would take me inside a painting. We would become other people in other places: Pretty, gentle places full of love. She was my best friend, but I could never tell her about Daddy. Daddy introduced me to a world of submission and self-hatred, that later became a world of degradation and violence.
As I became an adult my idea of love was warped by any “normal” standard.
But, Tim, Andy, Carlos, LD, and I shared a love and brotherhood that I can only compare to what soldiers must feel for each other. We hunted the enemy, and they hunted us. Our battlefields were the shadows downtown, off the highways, the corners of bars and in cars. We were children. We were a band of brothers.
I hope this documentary does some justice to the memories of those boys who had no voice – Who died and continue to die in the shadows of every city in America.
This is for you boys.
DIRECTOR:
This is a story that needs to be told. I became interested in Nick’s story after seeing a video presentation in early 2010. It was the saddest story I ever heard, but it was told in a very creative, odd, and almost schizophrenic manner. Then I took a look at his book. The writing style blew me away even though I couldn’t read it all. It was too emotionally draining, honest, and for him, still very real.
A few weeks later I met Nick and we talked about his dream of helping “the boys.” We clicked, and a few weeks later we started shooting “Eat the Pretty Ones,”
(ETPO).
I started this project with the idea that one man’s story could change the world. A big idea, but for the boys, or even one boy, I hoped it would help to put a face and a voice to their pain.
Up to this point I’ve donated a year and a half of my life to help tell this amazing story, but we have reached a point where that is no longer possible. The audio needs to be mastered, a website needs to be built, and film festivals need to be entered.
With your help we can make this story heard, and maybe save a few lives on the way.
