Kim DeLacy's rustic guitar playing, combined with an open urban vocal style, provides the making for a unique and entertaining night out. Known in her current hometown of Portland, Ore., for her energetic performances with rock group King Carlos, which often include a wide array of electric guitar effects and bass filled grooves, she has chosen to reflect a new maturity in her current project with cellist Allie Johnson, "The Petite Beat". DeLacy and Johnson collaboration mirrors their time spent in Sedona, AZ with its calm, yet driving energy. Their current set list varies from feel-good songs to passionate, minor driven ballads, including an epic yet reticent tune entitled Clarkdale Mansion. Whenever you mix the silky rumble of a cello with a prevailing falsetto range, they are bound to compliment each other.
