A young man has to navigate with student loan debt, underemployment, finding love, and adjusting to to life in these harsh times.
I wrote this movie in inspiration of a friend coming out of college and into the real world. I would call him the hard luck kid with a heart of gold. Life is often hard with very little reward for this gentleman as he fights hunger, excessive college debt payments, and a job that eats at his soul. Chewed up and spit out are words that come to mind. He finds himself in a mad downward spiral of bars and depression.
Life gives him an opportunity one day to escape to a better life, but he doesn’t realize it until many months later. The first few months are hard and grueling, and life is comparable to a zombie. He reflects and learns discipline, and once achieved, the character runs into his true love. Smitten, the character fights every ounce of fatigue and finds a way to see her, even if only for minutes a day. They establish an amazing relationship that leads to love and a reestablishment of faith in Man. The ending is emotional and unexpected.
The script for this movie has already been written.
My cost are camera and audio (5000), cutting film and audio (4000), paying crew and actors (2000), and props (2000). It’s a budget of $13000 and I plan on using it to its fullest extent as I want this reflect the drama of young adulthood and give hope to people in the darkest hour.
Final film will be on the web in January 2013. All pledges will be invited to the showing!!
