The Humming Bird represents endless joy and signifies the act of accomplishing the impossible. In some cultures it is said that if hatred or fear are inside one the humming bird will not stay near. I wish to create this statue as a way of sharing with those which has been shared with me by others; uplifting feelings that remark on the beauty of what it means to be alive. The humming bird is a positive symbol and I hope to capture the essence of what it stands for in my sculpture created with love, patients, discipline and honor! Materials and tools needed-

Eps Foam blocks 4ft x 32 inches wide by 8ft tall  from Woodlands in San Jose...          4 blocks @ $375 a piece = $1620 with tax  and $500 shipping to Santa Rosa, CA

For the protective coat....water based polyurethane (oil will eat away at the foam)...$150

White high gloss paint....it is going to be all white....there is something elegant and perfect about white...like bones......   once again...an estimate...$75

Sand paper....I want it as smooth as silk, but I really have no idea how much that will take...but I will be doing a lot fo sanding......100 grit to 800 grit....  $25

Space- I found a garage in Santa Rosa for $75 a month!  It is an hour away from the city but I can not beat the price.  I invite all of you to come see my progress and hang out while I am working on it!    $75 for 3 months is $225

I will use a dust mask, one that I bought for from my fist year out at BM and never used, googles and a jig saw, but I have all of those.
