About this project
For as long as I can remember my mother use to say, "LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD, SPEAK UP FOR YOURSELF." Since I was very young boy I have always loved radio and theater of the mind as they say. After a brief career in radio at the age of 20 my first child was born and I was forced to become a single father. Forced to end my career in needs to provide, I left my passion to entertain others with my voice. In early 2013, my mother who was always my biggest supporter suffered a massive stroke leaving her without the ability to speak and as she always said let her voice be heard. After a short battle to regain her abilities a second stroke hit and we lost her a few hours later. My mother always use to ask me when you will return to your passion. I never really had an answer. Radio is such a small window of opportunity. After her passing I realized broadcasting was my passion, but is FM radio really the future. After evaluating the field and seeing what listeners actually wanted I realized, they want on demand. They want to be able to listen to what they want, when they want and how they want to. Podcasting and digital media provides all those options. Thus came the idea for Elsie Digital. A digital broadcasting provider to allow not only myself but anyone with a passion to let their voice be heard. A full functioning studio with the ability to allow me to record Mr. Smith all the way in Boston through Skype and transform his ideas into a weekly or monthly podcast without even leaving his home and spending $40,000 on a communication degree. Recording , posting, editing and distributing of the podcast all done and completed for a fee, leaving the only work for the broadcaster is their voice and what they want to be heard by others.
Risks and challenges
As with any business venture, challenges will always be a block in the road. The funding I am seeking is to improve and update the materials and tools that I am currently using. The biggest challenge I may have to over come is building a fan base for the network. Since the soft launch I have been able to in just a few days to obtain over 200 downloads of our first 2 shows by promoting on social media. Improving my tools and equipment will allow me to produce higher quality content and distribute faster and to more people then ever before.
